1st Anniversary Newsletter - Picture Framing Supplies from FW Holroyd

The 1^st of September 2006 was the 1^st anniversary of the company and is seems like only yesterday that we bought the company from Jack and Sarah.  The last year has been a year of hard work, endurance and change and we would like to take this opportunity to update you on our progress thus far.

Those of you who attended our Annual Open Day last year (this year’s event is Sunday, 8^th October) would have seen the cosmetic changes that we made in the first six weeks of our tenure, i.e. new showroom, new offices, the building had been painted etc, but the biggest, most challenging, and effective change to the business, has been the move from vertical storage of the moulding to a new horizontal racking system.  This has been a massive undertaking which; we are pleased to say, as of now, is complete and working superbly.  Every moulding now has its own location and when you place an order the location of each moulding is printed on the left side of the order, the difference that this makes to making up an order and stock control is hugely important to the future service levels that we are committed to delivering.  We all accept that these changes have resulted in some pain and whilst we are fiercely proud of our service levels there have been times when we may have let some of you down, if this is so then we all apologise unreservedly and assure you that we are now totally focussed on delivering customer service levels unrivalled in the trade.

In April 2006, Heather (good as) Gold joined the Holroyd team as office manager.  Heather’s duties include both credit and stock control and generally helping to manage the day to day running of the business; without doubt she has been a great addition to the company’s structure.

In May we launched our new moulding catalogue which I hope you all have and are using regularly, to back this up we are now embarking on a sampling programme, if you would like to “try before you buy” then please contact us with a list of samples that you would like to try and we will send them to you within a few days.

As we mentioned at the beginning of this newsletter our Annual Open Day will be held on Sunday, 8^th of October 2006, this promises to be our biggest ONE DAY SALE ever, we will also be holding framing and mountcutting demonstrations as well as the usual wine and nibbles, all are welcome so please come along.
